Building Control is so important because it works to maintain the safety of people in buildings. Without Building control being reliably enforced, we would all be at greater risk.

Building Regulations apply to the majority of projects. Building Control enforces those Building Regulations, by checking for things like good ventilation and insulation, structural stability, fireproofing, and more.

An alternative to Local Authority Building Control (LABC) teams, Private Approved Inspectors are authorised under the Building Act 1984 to carry out Building Control work in England and Wales.

Approved Inspectors can be appointed in projects undertaken that require Building Regulations and help to keep those involved in the development, design, contracting, and building stages compliant.

Private approved inspectors are usually more responsive and efficient in terms of turn-around times.  Approved Inspectors are usually able to attend site at short notice and are often able to service clients nationally. They are able to build strong relationships with clients, aiding flexibility in client-specific work methods.
