NVQs are benchmark qualifications that prove occupational competence.

We offer a variety of construction NVQs from levels 2-7 which are recognised by industry awarding bodies and professionals.   All qualifications are designed for delivery in the workplace and learners will work remotely on unit work, gathering evidence and meeting with the assessor for observations routinely throughout the programme.

With our primary goal being to raise construction standards and efficiency through the delivery of high-quality training and assessment, we ensure that our assessors have the expertise, knowledge and skills to properly assist learners in their development.

As a result, NVQs are learn-on-the-job qualifications, which means that there is less time away from work and more practical application by putting the knowledge learned into action, equating to more efficient processes for performing duties.

At The OM Group, we take great care in ensuring that the level of the NVQ undertaken is right for each learner with each qualification having its own suggested timescale in which we would expect learners to complete the programme.

Some NVQs lead to advanced memberships like the Chartered Institute of Builders (CIOB) and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), as well as the Blue Trade, Gold or Black CSCS cards.

Learners will be eligible to apply for the relevant CSCS card after they have completed the requisite construction NVQ.

If learners are enrolled for their first NVQ for that particular level, they will be entitled to qualify for a red ‘trainee’ CSCS card, provided that the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment test has been completed for either operatives, specialists or managers and professionals in the construction sector.
